Yza Nouiga is a French-Moroccan filmmaker and archive researcher. Based in Montreal, often in Morocco. She graduated in screenwriting from L'INIS (L’Institut national de l'image et du son). She collaborated on several films as a scriptwriter and visual archive researcher. Yza received the NFB prize as part of the RIDM Talent Lab for her documentary project Jwad Amira. Her last short film Jardins Paradise was selected for several experimental festivals internationally. Her work revolves around the themes of heritage, happiness, invisible worlds and love that she explores through hybrid formats, sometimes with a touch of humour.
